Son's 2nd Birthday Party

So my son LOVES Cars (the movie) and trains. We are going to have his party at a local gym but I always try to get creative with invites, favors, and decorations... Any suggestions on different creative invites or favors with a Cars theme but not necessarily the store bought ones? My sister was thinking the little matchbox cars would be fun.... but Im not so sure... Any suggestions would be fabulous!

What about a tire shaped invite with a rolled up paper inside made to look like the road and the info put on that?

Or the checkered flags made into invitation

Matchbox cars as a favor or a paintable car that the kids could do at the party and take home

or a license plate themed invite or license plate frame that you put the kids pictures in....you can take a digital photo and email the parents

I have friend who did a cars birthday & made pit pass invitations, she even laminated them and hung them on lanyards. they were very cute

I have used walmart and walgreens to make invites, and I think they have a cars frame, you can use a recent pic of him. Our family loves them since they are an invite that doesnt just get thrown away, plus they are cheap.
