in Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What do you do with your 2 month old? The girls are getting to be more alert,smiling, and cooing but I still dont think they are ready to do a whole lot. We do tummy time and they are held and talked to, but they do sit in their bouncy seats a whole lot. I feel bad they are sitting in there but I dont know what else to do with them.

    Have you tried a playmat yet? Cody loves his. He kicks his feet, reaches for the toys and bats at them and talks away to himself.

    ditto on the playmat

    we read, talk, and sing to her

    sometimes she loves to lay on a blanket on the floor and just kick and kick away while she "talks" to us

    dangle toys over her head and try to teach her to bat them with her hands (she's only kicking things at this point)

    give her a massage with burt's bee's apricot baby oil

    I take her around and put different things in her hand to feel. I'll take her in the bedroom and let her feel the carpet, run her hand through the dogs fur, etc. She loves it! She's so interested in it all.

    I'll also talk to her. She's starting to try and copy my noises and facial expressions. If I stick my tongue out over and over, she'll start doing hers the same way.

    I let her play with Sophie or another rattle, or set her under her playmat.

    I'm jealous that you have time to do stuff with your twins.  One the rare occasion that one of mine is awake and happy, I'm dealing with the other one that is fussing up a storm.  We don't do tummy time and I feel awful for that.  They're never going to learn how to roll
