Anyone Using Dr. Brown's or Playtex Ventaire Bottles?

I am trying to decide between Dr. Brown's and Playtex Ventaire Advanced.  I have heard people say the Playtex ones leak.  Thoughts on Dr. Brown's?

Or if you have any other suggestions for a baby who will most likely have acid reflux issues (both hubby and I do).

  • The Playtex bottles leak if you don't put the plastic ring in the bottom (as my parents and sister found out one day).  If the ring is in you won't have a problem.  I love my Playtex VentAir bottles.

  • I picked up a playtex ventaire advanced as it was on clearance at BRU and I really like it..The bottom part sometimes leaks during feedings (stuff stuck in the vent part will drip downward and hit my hand) if fluid has been sitting too long (I like to fill the bottles before I need them) but she's no messier with it than any other bottle..I plan to get more as she also seems to get less gas (dont have AR issues though)

Dr browns just had waaay too many pieces for me to try..

ETA:I have the drop ins as well and tried it once she made a HUGE mess I think it was the nipple..will attempt again another time.

  • We use Dr. Browns and I LOVE them.  We've never had any issues with gas with LO.

  • I love the Ventaire bottles.  You just have to be careful to get the ones with the slow nippes - we accidentally picked up the wrong ones once and had a mess on our hands.  "Lento" not "Rapido"!!  =0

  • We just started using Dr. Browns and LO loves them. Yes, there are some pieces to them but it does not take me very long at all to clean them so I don't care.

  • I love Dr. Browns! But I don't have a LO with AR so I don't know how good they are that
  • I really like Dr. Brown's bottles.  Seems that DD has an easier time drinking from them and less air swallowing.
