Bath time, at the same time?

I have put on my baby registry two bath tub slings so I can bathe the twins at the same time, my DH thinks that will be impossible to do by myself, and there isn't room in the bathroom for both of us.  He wants to to just use the tub that sits on the kitchen counter and bathe one at a time.

How do you MoMs do your bath time?

Re: Bath time, at the same time?

  • we bathe one at a time.  when they were teeny tiny we used the bath slings in the kitchen sink, but now that they are bigger, we just lay them in the tub with about an inch or two of water - not enough to get in their ears, but enough so they can splash.

hubby strips one, i bathe, hand off to hubby to dry/diaper/dress while i strip and bathe the other.

  • When they were little we bathed them one at a time in an infant bath tub.  I alternated who got the first bath and didn't change the water between.  Now we just bathe all 3 of them together in the normal bath tub.

  • I use the kitchen sink right now and it's one at a time. It's so much easier that way and I don't have to worry about one while I am getting the other one out.

  • We do one at a time.  With little to no head control, I wouldn't want to worry about one flopping into the water while I was attending the other.

We bathed one at a time until they got too big for the baby tub.  Then we started bathing them together in the big tub.  But I dont bathe them by myself.  Not yet, anyway!

  • we did one a time in the sink and now we do one at a time in the duck tub...we tried them together in the big tub this weekend and they both screamed bloody murder the whole time...lovely.
  • my plan would be to do one at a time.

  • We do one at a time with the infant bath with the sling in the kitchen sink.  It gives us lots of room and we use our island as a dressing station with makes it quick.  DH and I do it together, I get tub the right temp and set up and he gets C and undresses her.  DH and I both help with the bath (very fast this way) and dry off and get dressed for bed.  C goes in the swing since she won't fall asleep and will relax (F falls asleep right after bath so she's always 2nd) I get new water ready, DH undresses F we bath her get her dressed and head to the nursery.  Bottles and bed and DONE! We can do both baths and get them bottles and to sleep in 40-45 mins now, we feel like NASCAR pit workers Smile

  • When DH and I are both home we do one at a time in a tub. But when we are alone we've been using these and we can bathe them together:

On a side note, we put these sideways in the bathtub so that the boys are side by side facing us. That way they can't slip out. They don't have as much fun as when they're in the infant tub because they can't splash as much, but it works fine and helps me out because bath time is happy time.

  • We used to bathe one at a time (I bathed one, then got her dried and dressed and started nursing while hubby played with #2, then bathed (once the first was out of the tub), dried and dressed #2 and got her ready for her nursing), now we bathe both together in the Primo Eurobath, and they have tons of fun together and it's so much fun for us to see them playing together.

I imagine it would be pretty tough to bathe both babies at once on your own, wouldn't recommend it...

We have the Primo Eurobath and up until recently, we would do one at a time in there on the kitchen counter (If DH and I were both around and up for chaos, we could put both DDs in the Primo together).  DDs still fit in the tub, but one in particular tends to get upset and stand up when I rinse her hair which means I get soaked.  So, what we've been doing recently when both DH and I are home is for one of us to get in the tub or shower with them and we kind of do them at the same time.  We'll wash one DD, and let her play while we wash the second.  The non-wet parent then is tasked with drying and diapering each girl.

Tonight was the first night I bathed them alone for a while and I just put one in the big tub at a time.
