Pregnant after a Loss

How important is it...

that your doc check your betas every 48-72 hours?  They had me come in yesterday morning for my first drawl.  Well I was told they would call with results. At 4pm today I called to get results only to hear that they are CLOSED until Monday.  So the earliest I will get them is Monday.  Maybe earliest I can go in again Tuesday.  Wow...I wish someone would have told me.

Re: How important is it...

  • I didn't get betas at all...

I think docs just do it to see if things are headed in the right direction as there's really nothing they can do to help with hcg production. I'd want to know my progesterone numbers though to see if I needed to be on supplements for that...at least it's something you can be proactive about.

  • Things like that have been happening to me too! It's very frustrating. Once they told me they would call me and never did with results. I started calling the Dr.'s direct line. lol I feel annoying but when you have lost a child you need to be cautious! GL!!!
  • I will be seeing another doc soon because I have had bad luck with this place.  I had called my last pregnancy (which I lost early on and my hcg levels indicated I was losing it) I called to get them for 3 days in a row and didn't end up getting them (only had them done once) until 2 weeks later at my post miscarriage appointment.
  • They should be able to look at the # increase and see if it is acceptable for the # of hours in between draws.

Sorry they are being so difficult.
