Suggestions for biting?

DD has recnetly started biting a lot.  She'll playfully bite your shoulder while your carrying her or your hand.  But if she gets mad, say I don't let her play with a cord, she'll swing around and try to bite me.  During those times she is clearly biting because she's mad/frustrated.  What do you do to prevent/stop her from doing that?  I don't want her to be that kid that bites other kids (or adults) :/

  • I am no help, but my friend's daughter does this and I just pray Mari doesn't start....because I wouldn't  have the foggiest idea of how to handle it. It would be especially hard for us since Mari thinks my serious voice is funny. Whenever I say no...she starts laughing.

  • Yikes.  DD bites me on the chin and nose a lot, but it's her way of kissing me, so I don't do anything about it.  If she started biting out of malice, I think I'd probably raise my voice and set her in a corner.  I do believe in a little light swatting to get the point across, but not quite this early.
  • I'm no help either but definitely curious to see what the answer might be.  Maybe call your pedi and ask them for advice?  Does she go to daycare?  If so, better figure it out soon!
