It was a huge FAIL. They fit him. He looked cute. He freaking leaked through both in one day. He could NEVER wear them at night. He pees too much. Every morning the diaper is saturated. He slept in a gDiaper and he was drenched. The sheet was drenched. The blanket was drenched.
My biggest issue is that the pee stays where it lands. With the disposables, it will use all of the diaper until there is no more room. If he pees twice in a short period of time, it leaks. If he takes a 2 hour nap, it leaks. I can't see it getting better if I put 2 liners in at a time, but I will give it a shot. After that I am done. Let me know if you want to buy them after round 2.
I love the theory and they fact that the liners are flushable, but they are no match for the wee man's bladder.
Re: So I forgot to tell you about the gDiaper experience
Aw, man, I want to use these! I think they are cute and I like how they are eco-friendly without the time/dedication it takes for full cloth.
But this report does not bode well for me actually using them....

This is me exactly! I'm really apprehensive about them now.
Not without a washing machine in the house.
There's another brand of hybrid diaper that I've seen a lot of people recommend. The name is escaping me now. GroBaby, I think.

I don't blame you. I just thought I'd throw it out there.
Yep I got a few of those. Plus you can use reusable or disposable liners, depending on the situation. But Wee I doubt that helps you now since you already invested in the gDiapers. :-/
Pretty much. $40+ later, I'm not looking to test the entire market of hybrid diapers
Back to pampers we go.
I had totally the same experience with gDiapers. They are darn cute, but they just don't work. We never failed to have a leak. Plus, the disposable liner thing? All the "fuss" of cloth diapers, and you still have some waste.

This isn't related to your cloth conversation, but the Pampers.
We have used Pampers 100% from the start, and loved them. But I wasn't too thrilled with the new design of the cruisers, so we tried the Up&Up after seeing some discussion on here - and I have to say I LOVE them! They are a middle ground of Pampers & Huggies. They're not as streamlined as Pampers, but aren't as papery and rough as Huggies. So maybe worth giving a shot if you haven't already. They're a lot cheaper too, which is always a plus in my house!
I use the BumGenius cloth diapers but we do disposables when we are out, and we love LOVE the Up & Up. No rashes, they don't leak, and I like the cute polka dots. And $13 for the big box? Great price!
