I am racking my brain to come up with a location for my baby shower. My sister and my mom are hosting. They both do not live in the metro are, so they are asking for my help to come up with location ideas. We are inviting around 40 girls, and my little townhouse is not big enough. I have thought of renting a park pavillion, but would like more options due to the shower being at the end of July/early August. After a day like today I think having something outdoors could be risky and miserable for me. I also want everything to be affordable. A friend suggested Buccas but from the sounds of it their banquet menu could bring the shower cost between $600-$800....way too much for a baby shower!! Do any of you have ideas???? I live in Chaska..but am open to having it around the area (Shakopee,Eden Prairie, Bloomington,Chan,Minnetonka, etc.)
Thank you!!
Re: Baby shower location ideas...
One of my friends had hers in the party room of a holiday inn (right near the 35 split) - they didn't have to buy the food from there or anything. Not sure how much it costs, but I would think it would be pretty reasonable. Otherwise if you know someone with a apartment party room those work too. I don't really know about restaurants in that area, but I would think tons of them have more private rooms, just the food is going to get spendy.
Good luck!

Have you thought about a church or town hall? Those are the only places that I can think of that would be inside and also fairly inexpensive.
Otherwise more Davanni's have party rooms.
I agree that an outdoor shower might not be a good idea. Can you imagine all the tissue paper and gift wrapping that you'd have to catch before the wind got it!!
Check out your church or local (non-chain) restaurants. The churches would probably be free, assuming you're a member. A local restaurant would be pretty flexible and should have affordable food. My cousin had her wedding shower in St. Paul at the Little Oven and it was super cute, great food, and not super expensive.
Good luck.
Turtles, Dangerfields and the Shakopee Community Center have rooms. I don't know if Chaska Community Center does or not??
Turtles has good food too!! I think Dangerfield's could get pricey with the food.
Have you tried Stonebrooke in Shakopee?
Thank you for the suggestions everyone!! We are waiting to hear back from Tommy's malt shop in Chaska and the park and rec dept.
THANK YOU FOR BEING SO HELPFUL
