3rd Trimester

36 weeks, breech and losing VBAC hope!

Had sono today only to confirm baby is still frank breech! Ugh..really?? Throw me a bone already! Hoping that maybe he makes the flip although they are thinking it is becoming less likely as we get closer to the due date. I am still standing my ground and not scheduling the C-section. My dr says I can still go to 41 weeks and just hope that he moves head down. Anyone else out there flip after 36 weeks??  (I'll probably be asking this each week to make myself have an inkling of hope...). Thanks for listening to my whining!

  • I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I was diagnosed breech at 34 weeks and 1 day.  I think the baby's turned though--I did the Webster technique with a chiropractor who I happened to be seeing for hip/back pain since April.

I won't find out until June 10 though if she's turned.  I think she has though!

  • No advice but I am in the same boat.  My first was breech and I tried everything to get her to move to no avail.  I knew weeks ago that this one was breech too.  It just felt exactly the same.  I was going to try for VBAC but I gave in and am just scheduling the c-section.  I am a little over 35 weeks now.  I am not even close to as bummed out this time as last time.   I am ready and excited.  Good luck!
  • I was breech at 35w2ds and today found it flipped at 36w2ds. There is hope!
  • My DS flipped the day before I went in for my version/c-section. ?I was 38 weeks. ?I stood on my head two or three days before. ?This baby was breeched and I stood on my head again the day before my ultrasound last week and he flipped. ?I hang off the end of the couch fo as long as I can stand (although it wasn't even 5 minutes this last time.) ?I don't know if it was standing on my head or not, but we are 2 for 2. ?It won't hurt to try.

  • I have heard that if you put an ice pack on the top of your belly and a warm compress near your pelvic bone, that the babies head will "migrate" towards the warm.

We have an ultra sound scheduled in one week to find out if our baby is breech.  Keeping my fingers crossed that the head is so far down, my doctor can't tell the position!
