Poss. moving to the Lehigh Valley - Qs

Hi ladies -

I'm from State College originally, but DH and I have been in Austin, TX for 3  years. We are hoping to move back to PA this year.

DH has a possible job on the West side of Allentown - he says it's off of 478 between 22 and Interstate 78.

We'd be buying a house, and DH is willing to drive up to 45 minutes to work.

I know this is a broad question, but any towns or specific areas/neighborhoods you'd recommend?

    If you're looking for places near 476/22/78 I would check out Upper Macungie, Macungie, Lower Macungie, Trexlertown, Orefield, Schnecksville (I grew up there and loved it), Emmaus.  Those are def. suburbs type towns. If you're looking for nice city living, then center city Bethlehem is great. I live there and it has great restaurants and shops and for the Valley it's the hip place to live right now.

    Thanks so much! DH is excited (just read him your response) because he heard that Emmaus was just rated one of the 100 best places to live in the US.

    I do like Bethlehem, my brother went to Lehigh and I visited a few times. We will need to look into all of the places, thanks again!
