I say I've booked Prep for Childbirth and Baby Care basics. I'm reading the Happiest Baby on the Block, per recommendation of an experienced mom. Now I'm curious if there will be IRL spottings at birthing classes...
I birthed at Abington but I am gonna give you my 2 cents anyway - if you can find a good Baby Care Basics class I say take it. There is so much you aren't going to know and of the 88 million things you need to know your mom/MIL/friends are only going to remember about 10% to pass on to you. I am sure the class won't cover it all, either, but the more you can learn the better. We got the Happiest Baby DVD and none of it worked on Haley, but I still think the DVD will help just as much as taking an actual class.

Not a deliverer myself, but I have had my doula clients influence me in this advice.
I recommend also thinking about taking a private out of hospital childbirth prep class in place of the one Pennsy offers or in addition to. Often times what they prepare you for is not really childbirth at all, but how to follow our rules and procedures and how to be a good patient type stuff. For the Philadelphia area, I have recommendations on my doula website, along with other good local resources related. https://www.delcodoula.com/local-resources.html
