Cake Balls that is.
I?m having a few people over on Sunday and was wondering about making up some balls. I?m a balls virgin. I?ve looked on Google and there appears to be many ways to make tasty balls. I figured I would ask the balls experts, what are your favorite kind of balls?
This post has been brought to you by the letter ?B?. B is for balls.

Re: Can We Talk Balls??
BALLS.
I like the red velvet/cream cheese balls.
I'd use the candy melts from Michaels on your balls instead of chocolate bark.
Be sure to freeze your balls adequately. Warm balls equals messy balls.

We made Balls with chocolate cake and mint chocolate candy melts from Michaels.
Yes freeze the balls it makes them easier to deal with. And try Ashley's trick of adding some crisco to the chocolate melts to smooth them out. Or your balls will be all rough looking like mine were . No one wants rough balls.

I like the cherry chip balls, with cream cheese frosting, and chocolate candy melts. Everytime you pop one of those cherry balls in your mouth, it's like a little ball of heaven on your taste buds.
The funfetti balls, with funfetti frosting and chocolate candy melts, are fantastic too. They're like a party in your mouth, instead of your pants.

since we're talking balls....how far in advance can they be made? Can I make them on a Thursday night for Saturday's party?
EDIT: I'd need to make them a week ahead, would that work if they were sotred in the freezer?
I like balls that are lemon cake with lemon or cream cheese frosting. Mmmm... The spice cake balls with cream cheese frosting are really yummy too. Nice and gooey in the mouth.... mmmmm...
You can totally freeze the balls a week ahead of time and then a day or two before the party, dip them balls in chocolate. I wouldn't freeze the chocolate dipped balls, though.

You can make fancy balls with cream filling by making chocolate mousse or just whippping cream with a little sugar and vanilla and using a pastry bag to squirt some cream into the middle of each ball. Re-freeze them before dipping, though.
Balls with creamy filling make mouths happy.

Great thread! I recently made balls with cherry chip cake, cherry frosting, and milk chocolate candy melts... holy balls they were good! I've gotten good feedback from yellow cake with chocolate frosting balls, too.
After you ladies make the balls, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. Mine last almost a week that way (that's if we can control ourselves from eating them that long). Balls.

What I'm getting from this thread is. . .
Freeze my balls. Nobody likes warm sweaty balls.
Crisco makes good lube. Nobody likes rough balls.
Everybody loves cream filled balls.
Check. And thank you all for your great advice about my balls!!
