I know this is a bit of a newb question, but what is raspberry leaf tea supposed to do for you and when during your cycle do you drink it?
My only real issue is spotting for days before AF arrives. I might O a little late, but I'm O'ing, so I'm not complaining. I'm trying vitex to see if it helps with the spotting. I just thought I'd learn about the tea in the meantime, and it's not in Shell's peas or TCOYF.
Oh wise women, please educate me. Thanks.
Re: Raspberry leaf tea
Red Raspberry Leaf Tea is a uterine tonic and you can drink a few glasses a day while TTC, but some midwives suggest stopping at O until the end of the first trimester because it may contribute to miscarriages. Other midwives disagree and believe it actually works to prevent miscarriages.
I drank high doses of RRL after each of my miscarriages along with vitamin C to clean out my system, but I didn't drink it while TTC or during 1st tri. During 2nd tri, I'll begin drinking it again - 1 cup a day - and in 3rd tri I'll drink 2-4 glasses a day.
Anyhow, you can google up a storm and it's very hard to find consensus on TTC or 1st trimester use. Mothering.com has a long thread for women who are TTC and using RRL.

Grrr is right. If you google RRL you will find a lot of contridictory information.
I take it to help thicken my lining (thank you Clomid for thinning it). It also lengthened my LP (which I didn't really need, but doesn't hurt). I take it from CD1 till ~5dpo....that way I don't worry about it causing mc.
Oh, and I don't drink it, I found a pill form of it so I take 2 a day.
Julie, I started drinking it 3 months ago to help with my chronic mid-cycle spotting and breakthrough bleeding before ovulation. (It was bad. Like days of spotting--sometimes over a week!--and anywhere from a little blood to soaking a panty liner in an hour). I drink 1 cup a day, usually in the morning, from CD1 to either a temp rise or Peak Days on my CBEFM. I stop in the LP because of the conflicting opinions on its safety in first tri.
It has worked wonders for me. I've had no spotting at all since I started drinking it. And while I took it to help with midcycle spotting, it has also solved the day or two of brown spotting I used to get before AF.

I did talk to her about it and she was about to put me on progesterone, but then I found out I was pg. Then I m/c again and it's been getting worse with each cycle. I'm going to the doctor in a few weeks and will ask then. I was just trying to see if there's anything I can do on my own before then.

Thanks for asking and thanks for the answers because I'm also having spotting (usually 2-3 days before AF) and no doctor I have spoken to seems to think it's a big deal, but it is worrying me.
I can't wait to get to the US and stock up on Vitex and Raspberry leaf tea. Thanks again!
where is it sold? or can you buy it at grocery stores etc...?
Awww, cute new siggy pic
I found it at one of my local grocery stores. I drink Yogi brand tea. Sonadora bought a ton of it on Amazon right before her bfp (and then sent it all to me, yay!)
