is there a back carry with the moby wrap? i lost my manual and couldn't find the instructions on the website. i found a youtube video but just want to make sure that it is safe to do a back carry with it.
The moby is too stretchy to really get a tight safe back carry. A woven wrap doesn't allow for the stretching and is safe (and can be done on your own).
I've heard the new moby instructions don't show this carry...but maybe they still do.
The manual I have demonstrates it with like a 2-3 year old child, which I think is kind of ridiculous. I have no idea how it didn't immediately stretch out the second it bore her weight. I wouldn't do it.
Did you have this bookmarked or did you just find it on their site? I thought they weren't showing that carry anymore and I don't see it listed in the instructions on their site. It's not in the pdf booklet that you can download from the site either so I'm pretty sure they've stopped recommending it??

I googled it. You can still find the hip carry instructions and these instructions if you google them, but if you go to the Moby website, you can't find them. I don't know if they officially stopped recommending these carries. It looks like maybe they have. When I bought my Moby, I chose it because it was inexpensive and supposed to work for kids up to 30 lbs. I now think that it's best for small, young babies... and I had a hard time convincing my husband that I needed an Ergo, because the Moby wasn't working so great anymore. He said, "But you said..."
If you read the page carefully, it has "*Moby? D? color: Woven Green with Moss" at the very top. So it's a Moby made a woven material, so it's not stretchy.
I have a Moby D, they're a more expensive line, some with inset woven panels, some all woven. Mine has a woven panel, so it provides more structure.

The Moby D still isn't safe for a back carry - it only has the one woven panel so there's still too much stretch. None of the mobys are non-stetchy.

ncbelle: what kind of woven wrap do you like/recommend?
I think she normally suggests bbslen for beginners. I know they were on sale recently. I have a bbslen wrap that has been turned into a ring sling and I love it.
Re: moby wrap - back carry?
Here's a link to the instructions. I've never done it. It looks like it would be difficult to do without help.

PLEASE don't back carry with the moby - it isn't safe!! This video shows why: https://community.babycenter.com/post/a22417995/why_you_shouldnt_wear" target="_blank" title="https://community.babycenter.com/post/a22417995/why_you_shouldnt_wear">https://community.babycenter.com/post/a22417995/why_you_shouldnt_wear
