How is it possible to sleep!

Our induction is set for 7am today.. it's 2 am, I've been lying in bed since 10pm wide awake. Can't sleep for the life of me. I wish there was some way to get myself to sleep until like 530am. Ugh. No fun!

Hey, sorry for butting in! My board is slow.
Just thought I would say that you will probably be able to sleep after they start inducing you, it took hours for mine to kick in. Maybe you can get some sleep lol.
Ok good! lol. My friends said they would give me something for sleep if I needed it so I am hoping they do, because I don't want to be exhausted pushing out little Msss Emily!
At that point you have so much adrenaline going, you could do ANYTHING. I had been awake for something like 36 hours when the time came to push, everything before then was a little fuzzy. Once everything starts going you notice everything.
Oh, and just so you know, a lot of babies don't breathe when they first come out, anywhere from 2-6 minutes. It's normal. No one told me that, and I started freaking out when she wasn't crying like "normal".

Well that's good to know! I figured I would be totally exhausted by the time the day was over and it was trying to push. I hope the induction isn't too crazy long, but I am only 2cm, 50% effaced. I am feeling some crazy pressure right now, it hurts! All in my bum it feels like. Ugh!
I totally didn't know babies do that! Thank you! Cuz I would have freaked out too lol!
This happens to me ALOT! Kaweah Delta is good about sending you home just when you feel the worst! Anyway they told me to drink some water and lay on my left side for 20 minutes then take BP again if still high to come back in! GL

Mine was 168/94.. they gave me about 15 minutes to relax since they took it right after I got there, like I walked in and they called my name. So once they took it the second time it was 160/90. Still high. I would day you should be calling the doctor, I'm not a doctor though, but I would say anytime your bp is that high it's not a good thing? Hopefully mine goes down by the time I am admitted. I hope your OK!!!!
Just thought I'd say before I actually leave, I wasn't effaced or dilated at all when I went to get induced, so it should be quicker for you at least! I know everyone hears horror stories about how long it takes, and I took super long, but I am the only one of my friends to be in labor for more than 6 hours. So apparently, most people have an easier time than I did. I'm sort of jealous, I spent a little over 2 days in labor.

HOLY CRAP!!! I haven't been looking at where ppl are from!! So awesome...I found a mommy from where I'm from!!! LOL! yea got in bed and 10 mins later it dropped to 150/88 so I'm just going to call my doctor in the morning to see what she wants me to do.
Oh I will! We are bringing our lab top and digital camera to the hospital, so if I have time I will sneak on here real fast and add a couple pictures!
Just saw that your from Springfield!! Having your baby at St. Johns?? They have such a nice ER I would think their L&D would be awesome!! DH and I lived in Bolivar for a year while I went to school...then missed family so moved back to CA... by the way if you want to buy a house I know of a really nice one for sale in Bolivar!!! LOL...ours is still on the market.
Haha, well I will cross my fingers that it goes smoothly and quickly then, my sister was only in labor for 6 hours so maybe I will follow in her foot steps!

Yep Yep! I was also going to go in tonight because of this weird dull backache I've been having.. I thought maybe a bath would help! as soon as I got in I couldn't even move! So there I am naked and freaking out thinking I'm going into labor (my dr swears I'll "hopefully" make it to 35 weeks) jeez! I have also had alot of PTL and blood pressure issues! But it seems like as soon as I get ready to go to the hosp or I am there... I AM FINE, or so it seems til I get home!
Love the new Mother/baby ward but when I visit 2nd floor I feel like I'm being pushed aside! oh well.
TY... I hope I'm ok too...Think I'll be going to bed soon and just calling MY doctor in the morning!

Well it was nice chatting to all of you lovely ladies! Labor dust coming at ya all!!! I hope I can get some rest tonight, I know sitting in this chair is making the pressure worse down below. Wondering if my water will decide to break or something. Guess we will see! I will post pictures when LO is born! Hey the drive from Bolivar to Springfield is nice! lol.. It was my quiet time. I loved that it was a smaller town but if we wanted anything in Springfield it was only 23 miles away! I miss living there! Some times..even today..DH and I wonder if moving back to CA was the best idea and if we should have just stayed there!
MMMM Lamberts! Don't be bring up that place to a pregnant gal that won't be going out to eat in forever, now come on haha! I love that place too! I want rolls thrown at me in my dreams sometimes lol. I am actually attending co'x nursing program. I thought about OTC, not sure entirely yet. I guess we will see!!
