sanae78 - carpal tunnel?

Saw your post about your left hand--have you gotten it checked out or tried any remedies? I was originally thinking about seeing a dr, but decided not to for now. I checked the previous post here on CTS and ordered a wrist brace online just today and am waiting for it to come in the mail. Hopefully that will help. For me, it's more of a burning/tingling pain that runs from my wrist to my fingers. It wasn't an issue for me during pg but I think it's from holding up the LO when nursing...mine just started yesterday, which seems like it was around the time yours started since you mentioned that it began a few weeks postpartum?

Yeah, I've been on the computer 24/7 since high school and I never had any wrist problems and considered myself lucky...until now! So yeah, be careful with your wrists/hands as much as possible when the baby is here!

  • i'm not sure i had carpal tunnel but i had issues w/a tendon in my right wrist...it would hurt a lot and often it would pull or cramp up...like a muscle cramp but in my tendon...it hurt!!! i found it was from the constant motion of my hand trying to bring her head to my boob during feedings...i thought about going to the doc about it but waited and eventually it got better. not sure if that's b/c she got better at nursing and i didn't have to go through that repetitive motion or what
  • I think mine might be a tendon, too, actually. It's in my left wrist in the side where my thumb is. I haven't gotten it checked out or done anything about it yet. I keep hoping it'll go away. Let me know if anything helps you.

that's where mine was too! is Kaya self latching now? i think that is what helped with us, as I didn't have to hold her head and manipulate it as much...and then with my oversupply we started to do a lot of side lying nursing so it eliminated the need for me to use my hand all together.  i really think going through that motion less and resting it helped w/me.

i hope yours gets better soon too!
