Support Officer Joe Weekley

This is a group I invited all on FB to join.  I know there are a lot of DHs that are POs on the board...

This is a former partner of my DH that joined the Detroit SWAT team.  While serving a warrant around 3 a.m. (for a 17 yr old that murdered another teenager for looking at him the wrong way) Officer Weekley was attacked by the grandma who was going after his gun.  The gun discharged killing a 7 year old girl sleeping on the couch.

The father of the murdered girl was the get away driver of the guy they were looking for, the house is a known drug house in the neighborhood, and there were stolen cars located in the backyard. 

A local lawyer (who also represented Jack Kavorkian (sp)) is putting Officer Weekley on trial as the bad guy and wants him to go to jail.  Another interesting fact of the case is that the A&E show first 48 was present taping the scene.

Joe is an incredibly nice family man and is going through a lot as you can imagine.  Any and all support for him would be great!
