Mei Tai Baby carrier

Hi everyone!  I haven't posted since first tri on the boards there, but I have been a faithful lurker for the past 9 months and thought you guys could help me out!

I was wondering if anyone has used the Mei Tai Baby carrier and what you thought of it.  I have been using a wrap (not sure what it's called, but it has a LOT of fabric) and I like it, but can't seem to get it tight enough without really upsetting LO when I try to put her in.  Then I end up supporting her bum the whole time since it starts to sag.  This looks easier to tie/get her in and out of.  https://www.meitaibaby.com/

thanks!

Re: Mei Tai Baby carrier

  • I love my mei tai. I think Ryan prefers the homemade cotton wrap we sometimes use though. The mei tai is much easier to get on and off!

  • How big/heavy is your LO?  The Mei Tai Baby is a great mei tai, but the body panel is a little on the smaller side.  I've seen people use it into toddlerhood, but I prefer it for when they're smaller.

Same here.  If I could only have one carrier (heaven forbid lol), it would be my BabyHawk Mai Tai.

She's just over 10lbs as of last week and almost 2 months old.

Oh, it'll be perfect for her! (I misread your ticker as her being 10 months old).  You'll probably want to get the one with the adjustable bottom so that you can cinch the body in case she prefers to ride with her legs out.

Yeah, I've tried to change the way the ticker shows her age and it won't let me!

I ordered the one with the snaps so that I can adjust it and got the snap extender too. I hope she likes it!!
