Boy name figured out!

Super excited, we finally get to find out the gender officially next week, but I got the boys name set! I have no clue what we're going to name her if it's a girl, lol. But what do you guys think of:

Oliver Michael. =]

I've had mixed rxns to the name from family...Dbf's mom (and in turn, sister) HATE. the name Oliver. They think he'll get picked on! (I don't think so...).

They (as of now) refuse to call him that, hope I'll change my mind (I won't, I'm stubborn and in love with the name) or are hoping for a girl! hmpf. I told them they could call him michael if they so pleased but they are never allowed to tell my son he has an "aweful name"--I'll go mama bear on them :-P

On the other hand my mom and dad love it (after they conceeded I will not name it [boy or girl] anything hispanic-y--lol) and my mom found this book about an elephant named Oliver this last week, she got super excited and bought it for baby. ha. I guess that gift will only work if it's a boy!

I love the name Oliver. What do you think of Olivia if it's a girl??? Its the perfect old fashioned name (in a good way).

I like the name, I wouldn't let your in-laws call him Michael though, because he will inevitably ask why they don't call him Oliver one day....and I think it would be annoying not to mention confusing for him to be called 2 different things. He's your child, you decide what to call him, they get to deal with it. I would be so mad if my in-laws refused to use the name I chose. I think that is extremely disrespectful.

I love the name Oliver. If that's what you name him, then I would not allow your boyfriend's family to call him Michael. They are being very rude.

It would be confusing if everyone called him oliver, except his dad's grandma and aunt. I'm hoping once they see him they'll be like "oh, oliver!" They mostly think he'll be teased for his name, but I don't think he will, but maybe that's just me hoping.

I do like the name Olivia, even Olive, a lot actually, for a girl, it's just that I love the name Oliver so much i'd rather save it for a boy, then use it on a girl...is that wrong? :P

I used to HATE the name Oliver. But, it's a family name on DH's side, so it's grown on me. We'll be using Olivia if we are blessed with a girl Smile

I completely agree! DH and I have already had this talk bc his Mom has ALREADY made comments when I say certain names.
