so i've seen a few posts w/ girls that have cysts and then they can't TTC that cycle if they're using fertility treatments and things like that, just curious why you can't TTC when you have a cyst??
before i knew i lost the pregnancy i was contemplating calling my OB b/c i was having pain on my right side, turns out i did have a cyst on my right ovary that was discovered during my u/s. I'm guessing it will just go away, right?

Re: just wondering, question about cysts?
I think some meds (esp Clomid) will cause cysts to grow so that's why cycles will be cancelled. I have had one on my left ovary since my baseline last September and it hasn't changed at all so it's not a problem. When I took a break cycle though part of the reason was a new cyst on the right. The RE wasn't really concerned, but I needed a break anyway from the meds and the stress.
It should just go away on its own for you. If you aren't doing meds then you probably don't have to worry about waiting to TTC, but I would confirm with your OB.
Hey girl!
Do you know what kind of cyst it was? Most of them will go away on their own, but there are some exceptions. As an example, I have a dermoid cyst (made of bones, teeth, etc....really weird) on one of my ovaries. It doesn't affect

Normal cysts will cause cycles to be cancelled because they can grow too big by the fertility drugs and burst (causing lots of pain possibly)...and I think they mess up the natural chemical balance of your body somewhat as well. I've never had one though, so I don't know much about them.
Are you going to talk to your doctor about next steps? I know you were going to see if he would do anything for you before your last preganancy with your spotting and everything else going on.
lol!
nobody ever talked to me about my cyst. actually the only mention of it was from the ultrasound tech b/c i had a feeling i had one. i had one when i was pg. w/ nathan too but they said it would go away as the pregnancy progressed and it did. so i'm guessing this one will go away too? i'm going to ask the ob about it at my follow up appt. on 6/11.
Yes, i think i'm going to mention my spotting again at my appt. it can't hurt, right? thankfully i'm not meeting w/ the ob who was there the day i found out about the m/c b/c he wasn't too friendly.
( but the doc who did my d&e was very nice and that's who i'm meeting w/ on 6/11. this poor guy is going to be in for an ear full. i have lots of questions/concerns etc...
thanks!
Good. I hope you give them an earful and they listen! I hope that doctor is proactive. That's why going to practices with different doctors can be so frustrating....you get a different answer from each one of them.
It sounds like yours is one that would go away on its own. Once the preganancy hormone is out of your system, it should start shrinking.
thanks. yah i was just wondering b/c i'm not on fertility treatments so i was just wondering if cysts can interfere w/ TTC when your not on meds and if my cyst would interfere when we start TTC again. i'm hoping and guessing it may be gone by then though.
