We bought a jogger from a friend last summer. Used it once, didn't care for it so we sold it at our garage sale last weekend. We still use our travel system stroller all the time.
I'm getting both. The travel system for running errands, every day stuff. The jogging stroller exclusively for hiking and running. You can get away with the jogging stroller as a regular stroller (but may want to consider getting the car seat adapter), but you can't use a travel system stroller as a jogging stroller at all...so if you plan on running with baby at all...you really need to get the jogging stroller.

my sister gave me her travel system that is only 1 year old and in perfect condition and then we plan to buy a BOB revolution for running.
If my sister hadn't given us her travel system, I would not have bought a travel system and just gotten a snap and go or the carseat adapter for the BOB.
We bought a BOB Revolution and are both completely in love with it. You can go anywhere and do anything. I wouldn't worry about buying two if you go with the BOB.
We're getting a jogger stroller that comes with an infant seat... didn't consider getting an additional standard stroller to use when not jogging. I figured we'd just use the one stroller for everything and call it easy. I guess we'll see how it goes...

We are getting a travel system that happens to be a jogging stroller. DH really wanted a jogging stroller and I wanted a travel system, so we got a travel system that makes us both happy. It is this one.

Ditto! We got the same exact one, after MUCH research!

I wouldn't really worry about getting a jogging stroller this early on because you aren't supposed to jog with a baby until he/she is 4 months old. In the beginning we got a travel system (ended up not really using the stroller) and a snap n go frame. Once DD was 3-4 months we bought a jogging stroller (more for walks on trails than jogging). They are big and bulky so they aren't good for running errands or storing in your car. We use a Maclaren Triumph for that.
We bought the Chicco Cortina travel system and we plan on getting the Jeep Limited Jogging Stroller also. We initially were just going to get a jogging stroller but my husband did not like the way that the car seat fit into the jogging strollers that are rated highly by Consumer Reports.
I don't really understand the argument of "get this for when they are X months old" -- who has that kind of money to spend, unless it's federally mandated that I end up buying my kid three different carseats?I'm not going to buy a stroller I can only use for three months -- especially since I'll probably not be using it in the winter at all.
I wouldn't buy a travel system under any circumstances (everyone I know who has ever had one said they're bad quality and they all stopped using them within three months of their babies being born) but I also wouldn't get a jogging stroller unless I actually jogged or lived somewhere without streets or sidewalks.
Right now we're leaning toward a city mini, perhaps with a carseat adapter. It's not heavy, it folds up really nicely, and it's a stroller that can grow with my child.
We gave this a lot of consideration as well before deciding what to get. We're not really joggers but do a good bit of walking on uneven trails so needed something more "all terrain" than the traveler systems. Ultimately we decided to get the Snap n Go to use with the car seat because it's very lightweight and similar in price to the car seat adapters needed for other non-traveler system strollers (which I balked at mostly because of how heavy they are). We're going with the City Mini because it lays down nearly flat so it should be a comfortable, lightweight stroller to use fairly early on if we are going somewhere we think the snap n go would have trouble.
I have said it before and I'll say it again. There is no perfect stroller. You have to decide what's most important to you. You will sacrifice on either weight, smoothness of ride, price, or compactness. We have a Graco travel system and the stroller is fine for what I use it for - shopping and walks in my suburban neighborhood. I wish it was lighter for the shopping trips and had a smoother ride for the walks, but I don't want a garage full of strollers, each for a different purpose. If you've decided on the travel system, I would wait on the jogger. You're not supposed to jog with a tiny baby and you may decide you want your jogging time to be mommy time. You may find the travel system stroller is just fine for walks were you live. (I can totally see it being a pain in the city, but it the suburbs it's fine)
