Umbrella stroller travel bags

Do you recommend them for airplane traveling?  Or just check in the stroller as is?

    We always put our umbrella stroller in one of the red gate check bags they sell in BRU.  It keeps the stroller clean and stops it getting wet if it's sitting outside in the rain after being unloaded from the plane.
