Is a doppler the same as the ultrasound machine at the OB office or is it for listening to the heartbeat only? Where can I find either and how affordable are they?
I've always had this impression that personal u/s machines were only for the fabulously rich but I've read posts that said things like "if you have a doppler..." etc.
Re: At-home ultrasound question
What the heck kind of u/s machine do vets use which would allow you to actually see your baby at 6wks? I am assuming you did not use it transvaginally...
I've never had an internal! It's the same that the doctor can use. I had a full bladder and saw our the little pea and we saw the heartbeat. The u/s machines there are just like a regular one. We used the hand wand on my stomach. Just like all the other u/s I had from my doctor. There was another tech there PG as well and she found out the sex before her appt with her doctor. Whenever she wanted a peek at the baby they did. My doctor that it was awesome that we did the u/s.
So, you're saying at 6 wks you saw your baby through an u/s which was NOT vaginally. That is one super duper u/s machine in the vets office to detect your fetus that early. Very cool!
