3rd Trimester

Contractions-L&D-and where we are at now

So I am still taking terbutaline every 4 hours.

The contractions have come back and they were getting stronger since Friday.  I was having contractions in my sleep (the little I am getting).

So today they were even stronger and they are 5 minutes apart.  In my back and front, but painful.

So I called the dr and she said I would have to go to L&D to be checked out because if my cervix isn't changing they won't keep me.

So I finally break down and go in.  The monitors pick them up funny so they wanted me on my side- and they show up really well then. between the bottom line and top line they were peaking around 65%.  They lasted about 30-45 seconds.  They were in my back.
So they checked me and found I was at 1cm 60% effaced.  She said that was progress but not with the dialation so they were going to send me home.

So the doctor said she was going to give me a shot of terbutaline and water to drink.  The shot helped a lot.  It subdued them and did away witht eh back contractions.  They sent me home with ambien.  She said a good nights sleep and relaxation cuold be enough to get me dialating.  So I am praying to sleep and have some picked up contractions that do something by my Thursday appointment.

They won't stop anything at this point because I've been on the preterm medicines to stop the term for a month.  So Thursday I go off all the medicines.  WOOHOO!

Just need to relax and deal with the contractions and hope to get dialaited so I can stop this painful deal.

I don't want a premie, but I also don't think having terrible contractions constantly are good either.

  • Hope everything turns out good for you and your baby! Thursday I find out if they're going to induce me (for medical reasons) or not, but I'm a bit more along than you. Lol. Hope you get some sleep!
