LO will only eat jars, not fresh purees... help!

so i've tried since the beginning to make DSs food... but he refuses, makes faces, gags when i make things (that he loves from a jar) like sweet potatoes, peas, etc.  he LOVES to eat, loves his jars of food, but won't take the homemade stuff.  i've worked really hard to puree things down to the same consistency, used breast milk, tried different thicknesses, mixed with cereal... still refuses!  he also refuses finger foods... hates puffs, cheerios, etc.  any suggestions?

    Wow that is weird.  The only thing I can think of is maybe the temperature of the food.  DS is picky and likes things at room temp or warm.  If it's cold, he gives me this look, like What is This!

    mine is the same way-I think it is the texture. no matter how you puree it, fresh food just has a different texture than jarred....I would give him what he likes so that he doesn't stop eating solids all together and try the fresh/finger foods again next month. I am a pediatric nurse (and we specialize in gastrointestinal disorders and eating aversions) and this is what our speech therapists recommend
