I try to give LO a bottle every now and then so he can be used to it before going back to work. He only drank an oz leaving 2 ozs. Is it wasted now? I warmed it up some in a bottle warmer.
Basically, no it is not wasted. You can give it again within 4 hours. Just put it back in the fridge. BM isn't bad unless it smells horrible or tastes sour.
my lactation consultant and the nurses at the hospital told me once the baby starts drinking from a bottle, the breastmilk inside is good for an hour. after that, it's not good anymore due to the possiblity of bacteria contamination from the lips on the nipple.
huh...now I'm confused too because I thought you could reuse it (like kellymom link says) but now I'm going to double check with the doctor tomorrow at LO's appt. I would be sad to have to throw away leftover ounces as LO often drinks either 5-6 oz. or 3 oz.

Re: Is this breastmilk ruined?
Here is a helpful link.

This is what we've heard too.
