MIL and I had a disagreement about this today. After a night feeding, like 2 or 3 am, do you hold LO up for a half hour just in case he/she spits up?
Aso, do you always stop LO to burp or follow his/her lead fo when a break is needed?

At least 15 minutes.
After about 4 weeks, we realized DD didn't need to burp until the end of her bottle. Before that, we'd go about 2 oz or so before stopping to burp her. Baby tummies are tiny!
This but I nurse and I will burp him after each side. He normally doesn't burp either at night, but I try for about 2 to 3 minutes.
Nope. I don't hold her up.
And, at night, I don't burp her. She tends to burp on her own, and if I burp her, she wakes up.
I don't hold him up for half an hour, more like 15 minutes. We have to because of his reflux, though. I wouldn't do it if we didn't have this problem.
ETA: We also stop to burp after every ounce or so. Again, because of the reflux.
No, I hold DS in my arms at a slight incline for about 10 minutes after he finishes his bottle. He rarely spits up. During this time, I burp him and rock him.
I never stop feeding him to burp him. I let him finish his bottle and then burp him. He gets mad if I pause mid-bottle.
