Parenting after a Loss

solids question...you'd think I'd be done asking these

At Mallory's age, do I just let her eat as much solids as she'll take?  For instance, at dinner, she will eat an entire stage 2 container plus some puffs or similar.  Is that okay?

For lunch I pack half of a stage 2 fruit and 1/4 oatmeal (or whatever the serving size is).  So since she's eating oatmeal, I don't let her have the whole fruit.  Sound right?  or should I let her eat the whole thing?

For breakfast, I give her half a yogurt (2 oz).  Should she be eating the whole thing?

  • My pedi told me to feed DS until he started to become distracted. Although I probably feed him after that too :) I hate wasting food. DS eats 4oz yogurt for BF. 4oz fruit or veggie for lunch. Dinner- 4oz of something, meat, veggie, or fruit. Cereal and usually 1oz of another side.

  • I feed dd mostly finger foods and I dont measure a lot of times, when she is done, she stops eating. She eats a whole yogurt for breakfast though I can tell u that measurement.

  • Thank you both.  I'll ask daycare if they think I should send more breakfast and lunch.

  • I agree, I feed Sara til she becomes distracted. Usually a yogurt or fruit with oatmeal for breakfast... a whole stg 2, a stg 2 fruit or veggie for lunch (depending what she had for breakfast) and a stg 3 dinner or veggie for dinner. She almost always finishes them all but sometimes doesnt finish the dinner
  • I let DD eat as much as she wants.  Nothing I'm feeding her is unhealthy.  But I do tend to give her different things if she's finished her first "course" and wants more.  I figure it will give her more vitamins.
