postpartum period...when?

When did you guys get your first postpartum period? We're almost at 6 months and I still haven't had one. I bled for a while after my c-section...almost 10 or 11 weeks...but my doctor ok'd me to start the mini pill about a month after I gave birth. When I stopped my postpartum bleeding, I never got a period and still haven't yet. I've been breastfeeding and just recently stopped pumping at work so I'm guessing that's the reason, even though I know some women who have EBFed and still got a period much earlier. I'm also guessing the pill is messing with my cycles.

Anyway, just wondering what the norm was and if anyone else went this long without a period. Thanks ladies!

i didn't nurse, and i bled for about 5 1/2 weeks...then got my period at exactly 6 weeks lol same thing with abby, i got my pp period at exactly 6 weeks. but between the 1st and this time around, it was about 45 days between the two.... i was slightly freaking out "omg, peter, there's no way i can be pregnant, right???" LOL wooo thank god i'm not!!!

Can't answer your question because I haven't gotten mine either, but I'm still EBFing and on the mini-pill. I did notice some EWCM a few weeks ago....I attributed it a to a few nights where DS slept for more than a 6 hr stretch (doesn't happen all that often).

Maybe you'll start to notice some ovulation pain or other signs that fertility is returning?

I nursed and didn't get my period until almost 12 months post partum with Sebastian and 18 months post partum with Nate!

i didn't get mine for almost 2 years, but breastfeeding twins may have had something to do w/ that. lol. was not on the mini pill.

I EBF and did not take the mini pill and I got my first pp period around 7 months. It was right after she was getting the hang of eating solids. She started taking in a lot less milk and it came back.

I didn't BF either of mine and got my first period at 7 weeks after both c-sections. With Nicky I didn't get another period until I was about 4 or 5 months pp. I'm hoping with this one, I get regular periods right away.

I think the norm is to go without a period if you are EBF. I did not luck out in that department. My pp bleeding stopped at 5 weeks and i got my period at 6 weeks and has been very regular since then. I have been EBF since day 1and delayed starting solids but it had not effect for me. I have not gone back on bc pills.

I breastfed till 13 months, I got my 1st postpartum period about 3 weeks later. Everyone is different, some women get it while breastfeeding, some get it when there is a decrease in BFing frequency, and some don't get it till after they stop completely.
