Blood Clot Under Placenta?

Last night I went to the ER for painful cramps that had lasted about 24 hours. I'm about 6 weeks along. They did a full work up  & discovered everything was fine. Baby's hb was good. My cervix (TMI) was closed. However there was a blood clot under the placenta :( The ER dr said it's possible to have a miscarriage :(

My dh and I are so scared. We don't know what to do. We are calling the OB first thing in the morning to get in and see what she has to say.

Has anyone else experienced this? I haven't experienced any bleeding by the way.

    I have a subchorionic hematoma which sounds like what you are describing.  I've had a few instances of heavy bleeding and cramping from it.  I was put on pelvic rest and that has stopped the bleeding for the past two weeks.  Take it easy and drink lots of water.  Good luck!
