Help me pick a cake with cp

We are doing a little wedding shower for DD's teacher, I'm making a cake. Help me pick which I should do. The colors will be pastels, so light pinks, yellows, purples, greens.   The cake would likely only be two layers as well. which do you like?

I like the first one! It's simple, but really pretty IMO. I'm a simple person though, I hate frills Stick out tongue

  • I think #3 looks the most "shower"-ish, whereas the other ones look more "formal wedding"-ish.

In addition, the other ones (while incredibly beautiful) look like they have fondant icing. Fondant is nice to look at, but it tastes like azz compared to buttercream. I've realized that after the first bite of cake, no guest really cares what it looked like; instead, just what it tasted like.

I agree, I don't like fondant and I should have said that it will be only buttercream on the cake.  I just smooth it out well.

  • I think 2 or 3 are shower-esque.

And seriously, the fact that you can do ANY of these is amazing.  I'm sure she'll love it!

Please post a pic once you've finished the cake!  I took a cake decorating class, and although I suck at it, I love seeing cakes from other folks!

  • I like 3.  I think it's the most showerish.  Also, it has a fun feel, which will be great for the kids.
