I feel like a hormonal fool!

DH is out tonight, he's on his way home now.  I was sitting here, about an hour ago, playing games online and I heard tapping on the window.  We have a huge, 2 story paladian window and we back up to a farm.  I turned on the porch light, went back to the great room to turn off the big light and noticed it was dark - the porch light was out.  I still heard the tapping.  At that point I started freaking out and called all my neighbors to see if one of them could come over and look, but no one answered their phone.  I called my parents and, since I was freaking out so bad, they told me to call the police.  I called the non-emergency number and they sent two officers to check things out.  Turns out there was nothing (probably just huge bugs attracted to the light) and the porch light burned out and just the right time, but they hung around to check things out anyway.  If I wasn't high on hormones, I would have loaded my shotgun and taken care of it myself... but instead, I sat here and cried and freaked out.  I feel like such a doofus!



What Are Your Thoughts on Tap Dancing Penguins?

    You did the right thing! At least you weren't crazy hormonal thinking you could take on the world... :)

    I would have done the exact same thing!  Being hormonal combined with a vivid imagination is not a good combo for me.
    I watched the season finale of "Criminal Minds" last week & didn't sleep for 2 nights because I was convinced the bad guy made it into the apartment.

    Thanks for making me feel better!!  When DH got home, I told him what happened and he said I totally did the right thing.  Especially with the farm behind us, there's no one to see anyone poking around back there.  I still feel a little foolish, because I really am a self sufficient person who takes care of things herself.  But I was skeer'd.
