Hi ladies! I've been lurking for a bit but you all seem so nice so I thought I would say hello!
I post sometimes on the Getting Pregnant board on the nest but I thought I would start posting here too.
My DH and I have been TTC since the end of last summer. We don't seem to have a problem getting pregnant, it's staying pregnant that's the challenge. We got pregnant on the first try and I had the first m/c in September. Got pregnant again and the second m/c was in February. I haven't had a whole lot of testing done yet because apparently two m/c's is just "bad luck", but once you have a third they can do a little more research to see what's going on. I'm not really looking forward to that happening a third time, but the general opinion of my doc's is that we need to just go ahead and try again and as soon as I get a BFP, they'll do a few tests and we'll wait to see what happens.
We have put it off for a little while, but recently just decided to go for it. Instead of planning and charting and all of that, we're just gonna keep BD and see what happens. So that's kind of where we're at. I don't know that we're having "trouble" trying to conceive just yet-but hopefully we'll have some more information in the next few months.
So, hopefully I'll be around here a little while and can get to know you ladies and get some ideas of how everyone else is approaching ttc. Thanks for letting me introduce myself! :-)
Re: Hi There!
Welcome to TTGP and good luck. I'm sorry for the losses that you've had, and I hope that you get your sticky baby really soon.
I'm approaching TTC through charting, but I'm mainly doing it to see if I'm even ovulating since I've got some whacky cycles going on with pcos. A lot of the women here chart using fertilityfriend.com in case you do decide you would like to chart later on.
Again, good luck with everything, look forward to getting to know you, but I hope your stay here isn't a long one.
Thank you ladies! I was kinda hoping that "3rd times a charm" too ;-)
Thank you! I have tried fertility friend before and temping and all of that. I'm thinking maybe that if we try it with a little less pressure than before we might have better luck. And the one thing I am pretty lucky about is that my cycles are pretty regular and I can usually pinpoint the day that I O without too much trouble-and the two times I have been pg, we timed BD with the O just perfectly. So, I know I can get pregnant-that part is easy for me-it's the staying pregnant part that's hard.
My doc did check my progesterone level after the second m/c, but she said it was normal. So, they want me to get pg again and call them as soon as I get the BFP so they can start doing some more blood work. I was kinda bummed when she said the progesterone was normal because I was really thinking that's what it was and it would be an easy fix. No such luck I suppose.
I am so sorry to hear about your losses!
I hope you and DH don't have to go through that again (after all, the 3rd time's a charm, right?)! I've had two CP, and it's so hard each time...it would be even worse to lose a baby after a more significant amount of time.
Beyond all of that, I want to say hello and welcome to you! I hope both of our stays on this board will be short (fingers crossed!)!
I'm sorry to hear about your losses as well.
Hopefully there is plenty of baby dust to go around! Good Luck to you!
