Hello to anyone who's up this early! I need some advice.
Our daughter - 4 1/2 months - has started to get a really phlegmy cough, like all of the older kids in the infant room seem to have at her daycare. She has been hacking a lot, especially lately. She doesn't seem to have a fever yet, but we aren't sure what to do. The coughing seems pretty bad, but it also seems like "just a cough".
Should we take her to the doctor?
TIA!
Re: Help! "The daycare cough"
I took DS to the doctor, he'd had the "daycare cough" for 1 1/2 weeks. His chest/nose sounded congested... but we took him in & he was perfectly clear, just a cold! Pedi said to expect colds a LOT since he'll be around other kids & they LOVE to share their germs!!
We bought a vaporizer & OMG! Cleared up the congestion/helped with the cough immediately!! Vicks baby rub is also wonderful & helps soothe their chests/backs.
Mine is in the same situation. I'm taking her to the dr tomorrow because she had a cold a couple of weeks ago with minor coughing, but now it's like nasty and sounds icky. I can tell she's congested and doesn't know what to do about it. I can't imagine how horrible she must feel. I just got over a cold too and I was miserable.
I read that a vaporizer would help but I'm not sure what exactly that is and how it works... maybe I'm off to research it!
Hope she feels better soon--
