  • Aww...I just did. I'm way too curious of a person. Plus I thought...whats the problem? that sounds really nice. Births don't gross me out- well, I was wrong. Ick!

    Am I not googling the same thing as you all? Is it the practice of leaving the umbilical cord intact to the placenta until it stops pulsating blood? If so, man you guys are p*ssies! I plan on requesting that in my birth plan. (Not until it dries up, but just until the pulsation stops.)

    I understand not cutting the cord right away and letting it go until it stops pulsating.  That's different than this.

    Lotus births mean that you carry the cord and placenta around with you for DAYS after LO is born.  Like it's in a bowl next to you and the baby.  Ewwww.  Wouldn't it stink???  Call me a p*ssy if you want but that is beyond nasty.
