East Valley Momma's

Hey everyone! I'm due September 2nd and the hospital I'm going to deliver in is Mercy Gilbert and I was wondering what you're thoughts on this hospital if you have been?

I was originally supposed to be delivering  at Banner Desert I believe but I ended up switching to Valley Women For Women as my OB/GYN because my old doctor's office was just horrible. Long story I don't feel like explaining. I've heard a lot of bad things about Banner so I just want to hear what people's thoughts are on Mercy Gilbert.

Thanks! :)

  • I am supposed to deliver at Banner Desert, what bad things have you heard??
  • I don't know about Banner Desert specifically but a few people have told me that Banner in general screwed them over. Like charging them for no reason and other things. I can't really remember because it was a while ago when I was told about this.
  • one thing to consider about mercy gilbert, if you have a baby and something goes wrong and your baby needs higher level of care, the baby will be flown to desert for their NICU.  and you will stay at mercy gilbert.  its a consideration why most people i know deliver at desert, so in case something does happen, they're in the same hospital as their babies.  as for billing, that happens at every single hospital you will go to.  so i wouldn't even consider that.  we're delivering at desert.

This is an excellent point. We all hope that we never need the NICU, but it would be horrible to be stuck in a hospital and your new baby in another hospital.

  • I am delivering at Desert Banner and I have only heard amazing things about the level of care/attention paid to both the mother & baby. But good luck & I hope everything goes well!
