I was working on a registry today and was looking at the travel systems. I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on them. And I have a real dumb question about them. I know that they come with a car seat and was wondering if that is what you actually use as your everyday car seat. I know.......dumb question. Reason I ask is because I was wondering if they were good quality???
Re: Travel Systems question
We just recieved a Safety 1st travel system, and it seems to be good quality. The material is softer, and it seems more comfy and plush than some of the Graco systems I've looked at. And yes, the car seat that comes with it will be the one we use all the time. Hope this helps!

We used this one with DD:

I have no complaints and we are planning to use it with this coming baby. It is still in great condition, DD still fits in the stroller, but we had to get a bigger carseat at 6 months as she grew out of it. We didn't mind changing to a different carseat because by 6 months, she was impossibly heavy to carry in her carseat, so the new one we have (its layered - so as baby gets bigger, a layer is taken out until it becomes a booster seat) works out perfectly. I did some research and it seems that Safety 1st products provide some extra side-impact protection. The only down-sides to all travel systems seem to be their bulkiness (based on people's reviews). This is the one we chose:

The Graco travel systems come with the Snugride, which is one of the best infant carseats you can buy. Yes, you use it as your everyday carseat - so when baby is asleep in the car, you just lift the seat out and snap it into the stroller it came with. Its very convenient.
If you know you want to buy another stroller later (like a jogger), I would recommend buying a carseat, a Snap n Go and the other stroller... its cheaper that way and the Snap n Go is much more lightweight than the travel system stroller.
FWIW, I had a travel system and did not like it. 6 months later, I bought a jogger that was compatible with my Snugrude carseat and I just used it... and then when we got pg with #2, I bought a Phil n Ted's and sold the other strollers because the Phil n Ted's is a single jogger, compatible with the carseat and has a doubles attachment to make it a double stroller later. It is the only stroller I use now.
