I went to the grocery store to pick up some of the gerber puffs for my DD to start giving her some finger foods or foods with a little more texture. I've given her a small piece of a baby mum mum to chew/suck on but she's not really a fan so far. I do realize that she's still young though.
The gerber puffs said 12 months+ on them.
I know I always see posts about moms feeding them to their LOs so now I'm curious.
Re: At what age did you start giving puffs for a snack?
I thought the puffs said they were suitable for babies crawling with their belly up off the floor?
Either way, we started them around 7 months.

Do they say 12+ months now? I swear they said that kids were ready for them when they could crawl way back in the day (last year) when I was giving them to my older one
Anyway, we did those around 8 or 9 months I think? I can't even tell you how nervous I was about him choking, lol. He did fine though
In the U.S. the packaging says that you can give them to "crawlers". The packaging in Canada says that you should give them 12+. I don't know why... legal issues I assume.
I gave my DD puffs starting at 6.5 months. She loves them and has never had any choking issues. I tucked them into her cheek at first so they'd have time get mushy before she'd have a chance to swallow them. No problems!
Puffs disolve so fast I wouldn't worry about it. Just give one and see how your LO likes them. DS had his first at 6 months. Then I wasn't too keen on him having wheat so we switched to Cheerios (or Trader Joes version of them).
I think Puffs disolve (and are less mess) them Mum Mums.
