I Smell Anal Glands.

Ick!

I moved to a laying position on the couch with my laptop, to realize that one of the dogs has "leaked."  I can't find quite where it's coming from.

    My dog had an infected anal gland the other day and it was not fun.  I feel your pain.  good luck finding it!

    DD(9)DD(5.5)DS(3)DS(born 2/1/11) July 2006, lost a baby at 8 weeks, natural miscarriage , May 2009 lost Zoe Eliana at 17 weeks no reason known, possible under developed organs. Lost two more babies in September 2009 at 7 wks 4 days. Had myomectomy surgery to remove a large fibroid in November 2009.

    OK.  I found the source!  It's one of our couch pillows.  We toss them on and off so I'm sure it was in Ruger's "spot" the other day.  With this revelation, I've figured out that Ruger is the culprit.  I hope that's all of it.  I don't want to smell it on his butt while we're sleeping tonight!  And he just got those glands popped last week at the groomers!

    I hate it when they do that.  I'm a groomer and have to express anals at work.  I have to keep my scotties anals expressed and he still keeps licking back there and will sometimes express them himself and stinks up the bedroom like anals Angry.  It's such a horrid smell.

    Whenever they start licking back there and or dragging their bottom on the floor.  It varies.  Some dogs need it done more often than others and some don't need it done at all.

    Thanks!  I think Ruger might be one of those dogs that needs it done more often!  I've never seen him drag but a few nights ago he was licking and I kept trying to stop him!

    omg as any dog owner knows, that is one of the worst smells ever.  My dog tries to lick the spot too once it's happened (like the couch or the blanket etc.)  Double gross!!!

    Eww! My dog has had anal gland issues a couple of times where they got infected, talk about gross!
