I am at 32 weeks pregnant- i have walked for about 2 months without any major leg pain. My muscles have never ached from it.
I woke up today because the pain in my legs was so bad i couldnt sleep. It feels like growing aches and pains i used to get when i was little, and has moved down to the bottoms of my feet. My hips and butt are killing me as well, especially when i lay down. Its moving into my lower back. It seems like i cant get out of pain anywhere i move too! Tylenol helps a tiny bit...but is this normal or anyone else experienced this???? SUGGESTIONS!
Re: is this supposed to hurt?
Yeah it is probably normal. I remember the last couple months of my frist pregnancy I had that restless leg feeling and sometimes my legs would hurt more... like growing pains almost.
Also I notice when I run on the treadmill my hips tend to be tender afterwards. I teach spin classes and do eliptical and other things and I feel fine but with the running I am starting to have more pressure in my hips so the walking might have to do with that.
hmmm not sure then... when is your next appointment? If it isn't soon you might want to schedule something just to talk with your doc. Sorry for all the discomfort!!

I've had hip, thigh, butt, and calf pain come and go throughout my pregnancy. Sometimes it will last a couple days but mostly it lasts less than 24 hours. Early on the hip pain was bad enough that I went to go see a specialist and he told me that it was probably pregnancy related but it didn't really matter because neither testing nor medications are safe. Fortunately it got better and I started taking prenatal yoga and I think that helped keep it from comng back.
Make sure you are getting enough calcium & potassium - I started eating a banana in the morning & taking a calcium chewable before bed. Try runners stretches or some yoga stretching to loosen things up and get in a warm bath or use a heating pad. It will probably be short lived - hang in there.
