I just got an invite via facebook to my sister in law's sister's baby shower for her 4th kid..... this is not mud. I dont know her very well. I mean I have met her and seen her a few times but nothing more than a passing "Hi." Anyway, should I go?

her 4th kid? and you dont really know her? i think first its tacky for her to have one..and second tacky to be inviting people she doesnt really know (im assuming someone else is doing the inviting..but still)

Maybe it is one of those facebook invites where the invite is just sent out to everyone that is on their friend list... and yes, it is tacky that she is having a shower.

I agree with the others that, first of all, it's totally tacky for her to be having a shower for her FOURTH child, and second of all, it's totally tacky for her to be inviting people she doesn't even know that well. If it were me, I wouldn't go.

I don't know which is more tacky, the shower or the facebook invite. FB invites are for stuff like BBQ's and get togethers, not something that actually requires a formal invitation!! The whole shower thing is ridiculous since it's her FOURTH child. That's pretty ballsy. Okay, that being said, I say skip the shower and send her a freakin' coupon! She shouldn't have had four kids if she didn't financially plan for them and needs a shower to help her out! Wouldn't a shower for a fourth child be kind of... well.. akward?????????

Yeah, that seems really weird. I'd just politely decline. How odd, I definitely don't want people I don't have relationships with to be at my shower.

I think it is fine. I don't think it is tacky to have a shower for each child. You don't ask for the same things and you don't always get the same things. Also I think it is a fun time to spend with people. I just like going to showers.

4th child baby shower = tacky, tacky, tacky. (after 3 kids you would think she has everything she needs for a baby)

wow I am so alone on this lol. I only think it's tacky if she's throwing it herself (which is kinda yucky to begin with) but if someone else is throwing it for her I don't see anything wrong with it. I just mentioned to another poster, if she registered for things by baby #4 that would be different.

Her being your SIL kinda rules out the not knowing her factor by default.
