Oh thank you! I was going to page you on Tuesday evening. I have so much arch pain. This is since I've been pregnant, but way worse now. I do have high arches and my feet roll out some-always have. Last night I was having muscle spasms in my arch of my foot.I've been having pain bust the spasms are new. Sometimes I get shooting pain in the little bone on the inside of my foot (I don't know the name but just under the ankle and above the arch). I also get pain just under my knee at the tendon area. Ouch. I thought it could be my shoes but it doesn't matter what I wear and it happens even when I'm just sitting. Should I try something like wrapping it or ice or heat? Or should I just go to the Dr? I have good shoes. I never wear cheap ones and I wore flip flops once this spring and swore I wouldn't ever again. Help? (Sorry it's long-I'm running on 3 hrs sleep due to DD's growth spurt lol.

You're welcome I understand the lack of sleep - LO has an ear infection and has been miserable the last few days. Thankfully, the growths spurts seem to be over before you know it.
Have you had any trips or falls, or remember twisting your foot or ankle recently? If not, my guess would be tendonitis. There's a muscle that starts up by your knee, wraps under the ankle bone and inserts into the bone where I think you're having pain. The muscle spasms would make sense if you have higher arches, since the muscle that attaches into that bone is what helps to support your arch when you stand. Try standing on your toes - first on both feet, and then just on the side that's painful. Can you do it, or is it too painful?
Even though you have higher arches, a good arch support would help. You can also try an Ace bandage or one of the Neoprene ankle braces that you find at the drug store. A short course of anti-inflammatory medicine will also help if it's tendonitis - 500 mg of Motrin/Aleeve twice a day for 10 days. Heat is great for the muscle spasms, and then ice if you have any swelling.
It's also possible that you have an accessory bone at the site where it's painful - it's fairly common and it effects how the (posterior tibial) tendon functions. If it's becoming chronic, I'd go see a doctor. If I were close enough, I'd check you out myself. Hope you feel better - let me know if you need anything else!
Thank you! That is all helpful info. I haven't fallen or twisted anything. I guess I need to find a Dr. I've always had issues with my high arches.I was a ballet dancer all through school too, which I'm sure hasn't helped. I'm sure the extra baby weight has not helped me either. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain and this has kept me awake a few times lately. I'm going to try the neoprene for now until I cam get an appointment. Thanks again!
