3rd Trimester

who's using their boat before baby comes?

My dad has a 31' and my mom is stressing about me being on it before the baby makes his arrival. As long as we're not going so fast the boat is slamming up and down, it should be fine right? My dad promises to go easy so we're not bouncing around. Anyway.. who's not missing out on boating season?

  • Absolutely!  only reason I'm not there right now is because it was outside of my "hour" travel limit!  aghhh I'm dying not being there right now~  Is it a cruiser or run about?  No skiing or wakeboarding!  ;)  Kidding

  • I plan on boating for at least a few more weeks.  I'm a little nervous about all the bumping around so I will definitly avoid it on busy days....like this weekend!  It gets pretty crazy out there on holiday weekends!  I will be saying no to the jet ski though.

  • I went out on the boat once this pregnancy around, 22 weeks and it really wasn't very fun. It was a calm day and we were on the bay and going slow, but it was still a lot of bouncing and caused some BH contractions, uncomfortableness, and unnecessary worry.

You'll probably be fine, but I just wanted to share my experience.

Starting tomorrow I officially won't e going on the boat. But have been on it up until now! DH goes really slow so he doesn't bounce us all about. Maybe I should go on it this week and see if it will kick start labor lol. Jk!!!
  • If I had a boat, I'd totally be out on it!!  :-)  As long as conditions are safe and you're feeling up to it, why not?
  • I'd totally be on a boat if we had one. As long as my water hasn't broke or I wasn't having contractions I'd be all over it.
  • I was just out on our boat yesterday. We took it easy and it wasn't too wavy so that helped. I felt fine, although a little motion sick...which was weird because I'm not usually. Have fun!

  • I just went sailing 2 days ago and it was fine.
  • we have a 16', a 24' and a 36'. i was just over in the abacos for a week on the 36' and was perfectly fine, even in 3'-4' seas. I'll also go on the 24' as long as it's a calm day cause DH knows to be careful. but my doc said hell no to the sweet 16' cause of the possibility of a placental tear from a bumpy ride. but i definitely will be on at least one of the boats till i'm about to pop.
