are you still around? i'm sorry i disappeared. i so have ADD and when you mentioned colinda's pool i went to FB and then got lost in all that. then i got other ideas and it sparked a full on web-surfing-palooza. then i came back here and saw your last post. ![]()
i'm guessing that your mw doesn't offer classes. i teach them and i only charge $50 if you come to me, $75 if i go to you. that's a great deal, huh?
work is going well. the last birth didn't really get a story here cuz it will scare people. think along the lines of tearing. nuff said.
Re: shell
Yea, I'm here, contemplating a nap
no, she doesn't offer them. Too bad you're not in FL anymore
that's a GREAT deal!!!
OOoh, owies. I kinda want to hear the story though.

i guess you get the chance during your appts to ask her whatever you want regarding the class stuff.
the one thing that i tell first time moms is that your labor is probably going to be very long. try not to get too excited at the first sign of labor- otherwise you will run out of energy later when you really need it. for a lot of women their labor starts late at night and so they have been up all that day and now they are going to work all night and into the next day. well naturally they are exhausted. try to rest when you can, eat when you are hungry and stay hydrated.
well i would be glad to share the story with you if you really want to know...i'm not sure what happened but she ended up with a 4th degree tear. it was hard to see so i called in another mw to come look at it. long story short 4 mw's looked at her and she got stitched and we didn't know she had a 4th degree. it is baffling to us all, including our back up dr. all of the mw's and our dr said they have never seen a homebirth 4th degree. typically that comes with other interventions or funny presentations in the baby.
the only thing i can think of is right before the baby crowned the heart tones dropped to a very low number. i told her "ok, it's time to get the baby out" and she heard that and SHOT her baby out in one whole push. i think she just blew out her vag in her attempt to get him out. she heard the low heart tones too on the doppler and got scared.
she is feeling better now and healing nicely.

yeah i am assuming that was it. i mean he didn't even really crown. it was weird. poor mom, i felt so bad for her. over 200 births and i have never seen anything like that before.
when you are pushing Xavier out, listen to your mw when she tells you to slow down.
