spit up help please!

my #1 never spit up, so this is all new to me.  i ebf, he is 15 days old.  he makes no facial expression or noise to indicate he is in pain, but spits up a lot, after almost every feeding.  normal?

Re: spit up help please!

  • spit up is normal....as long as it isn't projectile. You would be able to tell if ds was in pain so if he isn't then it is probably ok. It is scarier for us lol.

  • Michael does not spit up much but when he does, it is ALL over him from neck to crotch requiring an entire wardrobe change.  And he usually does it when he is sitting in his swing chilling out.

  • As long as baby is not acting like their in pain and is not having trouble gaining weight then spit up is fine and normal.
  • Our dd NEVER spit up, and we have quite the spitter this time around! He has been diagnosed w/ AR because of the following: 1. Spitting up (no crying from our little one) a lot! 2. No weight gain. 3. Digging hands into face. 4. Reluctancy to continue feeding after first few sucks. He'd either go to sleep or tighten lips. We had to strip him down and force feed. Reach out to your pedi who will tell you if your experiences are normal or not.
