I'm delivering at RO Beaumont but I want my LO's pediatrician to be associated with Troy Beaumont (since it's the closest hospital to our house). If I pick a ped that works out of Troy Bueamont, does that mean he/she won't be abel to visit my LO in the RO hospital? Does anyone know of a ped. that is affiliated with both RO and Troy Beaumont?
Re: Pediatrician ?
It depends on the pediatrician's office.
I use Mali and Mali (out of Troy), but they also do rounds at RO Beaumont and saw my son there.
My son goes to Birmingham Peds too - really like them
My sister goes to Mali and Mali and really likes them...although I thought they didn't go to RO? Or maybe they just weren't available to come when my nephew was born? I know they didn't see him while he was in the hospital...
Either way, it's not a huge deal if your pedi can't come to the hospital. You will likely have to take your LO to the dr soon after coming home anyway. Our pedi did not come to the hospital and Libby saw residents and neonatologists while she was there, and it was fine. Once we got home we took her to our pedi. Same thing with my sister- my nephew saw the docs on staff and they took him to their doc once they got home.
Any ped that goes to RO Beaumont will also be at Troy.
Also, if you find a ped that is not affiliated with Beaumont, you can still use them. Your LO will just see one of the on-call peds at the hospital (which is not a big deal at all.....)
We got to Child Health Associates. They have an office in Troy and Farmington Hills. I cannot say enough great things about them. I have sent 5 friends there over the course of 3 years and they all love them.
