if you swaddle LO and leave LO w/ someone

Do you have to train them on swaddling?  Stick out tongue

Its one of the only reasons I dont like swaddling...I feel like I have to give a tutorial on how to swaddle DD and then explain the "shhhhhh", the rocking and the white noise machine! LOL

  • We just use the swaddle blankets with the velcro, that way its pretty self explanatory on how to swaddle them! :)

  • Lobster is the only person I've had to teach to swaddle. My sister sucks at it, I just told her to make him into a baby burrito. Otherwise, everyone else seems to do well.

ETA: I pretty much figure that they'll do it their own way. If it works, Little Lobster will be happy. If it doesn't work, Little Lobster will give them a fit till they figure out what to do to make him happy. Either way, as long as they keep him breathing, I don't care what they do as long as it works for them.

I wish I could more like this! I get totally unnecessarily stressed about the dumbest things when we leave lo with someone. Like the swaddling, feeding, etc. I need to chill out! :-) And to OP-we use the swaddleme blankets with the Velcro so it's pretty quick and easy.
  • I guess I never really thought about it.  We have Halo sleepsack swaddles, which actually have little picture directions on the inside.  But so far only grandparents or daycare have baby-sat my kids, so as I said, I never even thought about it.  I am pretty anal with instructions before I leave the kids though!

  • Yup we did (when we swaddled). Even now, we still give very specific bedtime/naptime instructions.
