I had a bunch of chicken and homemade chicken soup at the beginning of the week. On Thursday night we had a BBQ and I thought the chicken tasted weird. Everyone else said it was fine.
By Friday the thought of chicken made me a little green.
I don't even know if this is psychosomatic, if I eat it will I be able to get past the mental block? Or is it a moot point?
I eat a ton of chicken normally so it's weird that I'm having this kind of an aversion.
Re: did chicken start tasting funny to you?
I've had A LOT of people tell me that they developed a chicken aversion. My first food issue was the fact that grilled chicken (which I usually love) started sounding revolting and I know at least 3 other women who have had the same thing.
On the other hand...I can't get enough red meat.
I don't eat meat, but I've been having bigtime aversions to white bread. I'll frequently have a pb&j for lunch, and since I got PG I can't eat more than half a sandwich without gagging. Pizza is fine though, go figure, and so is whole wheat (I've been having crazy, CRAZY cravings for subway, specifically honey oat with cheddar cheese and lots of veggies). It doesn't taste all that different, I just can't eat it for no apparent reason.
I think a PG thing to all of a sudden really not like thing which were former staples in your diet, not necessarily just chicken. Or bread. heh.
I forgot to mention though that I don't seem to be having a problem with fried chicken. I ate KFC the other night (I know, I know...probably not really chicken and its terrible for me) and it tasted like heaven.
Apparentally my body is only kickin' back the the healthy stuff.
