They're not expensive shoes (Walmart cheapies). Would you ask that DCP pay for them or would you just not worry about it?
On one hand I don't want to ask her to pay for them because I hate asking for things and they were only about $10, but it was his only pair of shoes that fit right now! On the other hand, I don't want to not say anything because I don't want her to think I'm cool with losing things.
Re: WWYD if daycare lost a pair of shoes?
Things get lost at dc. It's part of the deal. I wouldn't say anything at all.
Perhaps just remind them of the color etc in case they turn up. They might have been sent home in someone else's bag and will show up later!
I agree, you should say something. If they are your LO's only comfy shoes, then you shouldn't have to make a special trip to the store just for more.
On the scale of DCP loss, IMO, it would clearly be worse than losing a paci or a sippy cup, but not quite as bad as losing LO's lovey.
I think this sounds different because it's a pair of shoes, not just one lost in a shuffle on an outing which could happen to anyone. Seems likely that they got picked up by someone else and they might still find their way back if DCP knows to look for them. DD only has 2 pr of shoes, I'd be p!ssed if one pair just disappeared one day.
I wouldn't ask to be reimbursed either, but I would keep asking if they found them, I mean like every day when I picked her up. We have stride rite shoes which are not cheap and she doesn't have many pairs at a time. I would be rather mad if they lost them. She's lost spoons or containers. Ok, no big deal. But a pair of shoes. I would have a problem with that.
Just to update, she called last night to say she found them. We're going to go by this morning and pick them up.
MrsKenney: He took his shoes off and obviously they got lost before they got put away. He came home barefoot (they were sandals).
