BF questions - big busted bra?

Hi all,

I am really lucky and we haven't had a hard time with him latching from the very beginning.  It has only been a week...but I already have questions!  My questions are:

 1) Does anyone have a recommendation for a really good, supportive nursing bra for like a 36ddd or 36E?  Mine are really bad and for laying around the house it is fine, but not for excursions!

2) Has anyone had a really bad crack on their nipple and what have you done?  It is almost unbearable for me to have him latch on my left side, so I have started pumping there....

 Thanks!!

Cant help you with the bra but yes, I had bad cracks and I used lanolin after every feeding, would squeeze a drop of breastmilk too and rub that on my nipple, and then letting it air dry.

My Dr also had me use bacitracin, which is just an OTC antibacterial cream to prevent an infection.  You can get it at any drugstore and just wipe it off before feeding LO, although if you're using breastpads, most of it gets wiped off anyway.

  • I used Lanolin.  It was awesome!  Don't know about the bra though.
  • I just ordered several bras online from breakoutbras.com--someone else on here recommended that website, and I'm hoping the ones I ordered fit ok.  They do seem to have a really good selection of larger sizes.  The brands I'm trying are Elomi, Anita, and Bravado.  I've heard good things about Bravado in particular.

  • I'm big busted and LOVE Bravado bras. I just used lanolin and tried to go topless as much as possible when I had cracked nips
  • I couldn't find any I liked that were supportive enough and ended up making my own from my regular bras--you can 'google' instructions, but I used snaps from Michael's and a little ribbon, it was super easy and I don't sew!
  • I'm in love with my elle macpheason nursing bra. I'm a 38E. It's pricey but worth every penny!
